Has Your Anxiety Spun Out Of Control?
Do you feel like your mind is always racing at a hundred miles per hour?
Are you unable to sleep at night because you’re always worrying about tomorrow?
Does anxiety affect every waking moment of your life and impact all of your decisions?
When you’re dealing with anxiety, it’s normal to feel nervous and on edge, as if something terrible is about to happen. Your worries could quickly snowball and spiral out of control. Sometimes you might experience full-blown panic attacks—you might struggle to breathe and mistake your symptoms for a heart attack. Your anxiety could also cause a lack of sleep, making you tired, irritable, and unable to be your best self at work, in school, or with your loved ones. As a result, you may be considering anxiety therapy.
Anxiety Can Deeply Impact Your Relationships And Prevent Meaningful Connections
Some days, you may feel too anxious to even leave the house. The thought of being around other people and saying or doing the wrong thing could be too much to bear. This is especially true if you work in a stressful, high-stakes environment or you’re experiencing conflict with friends or family.
Although isolating and withdrawing from others may provide temporary relief, eventually it can make life lonely. You might find yourself passing up opportunities to meet new people, try new things, and grow as a person.
There is another way to live. As a therapist who specializes in treating anxiety, it’s my goal to help you learn to manage your stress so that you can step out of your comfort zone with peace and assurance. With the right help and support, you can reduce the hold that anxiety has on your life.
Anxiety Is One Of The Most Common Mental Illnesses On The Planet
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, about 20 percent of the US population suffers from anxiety.* Yet given how many people have undiagnosed cases of anxiety, I suspect the real number is much higher than that. Our society as a whole is deeply anxious. And in the wake of a global pandemic, we’re all a little more on edge than usual.

It’s Tempting To Try And Push Anxiety Away—But That Only Makes It Worse
Many of us wish we could just get rid of anxiety entirely. Not only is that unrealistic, but it isn’t healthy. A little anxiety can help you stay regulated and prepared for stressful situations. In fact, trying to suppress anxiety or push it away just makes it worse. Leaving it unaddressed allows it to fester and come back stronger, putting even more stress on your life.
To truly heal from anxiety, you need to be able to safely confront it and explore its impact on a deeper level. Doing so can seem scary, and that’s why it’s so important to seek therapy. I am trained and equipped to help people address their anxiety in a way that’s safe, comfortable, and deeply empowering.
Therapy Can Help You Release Your Anxiety And Feel More Grounded In Day-To-Day Life
Relationships are the key to therapy—and to life itself. When you have the unconditional support of someone who is trustworthy, empathetic, and knowledgeable about mental health issues, there’s no limit to the healing that can take place. My mission as your therapist is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where we can share, learn, and grow together.
In sessions with me, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about where your anxiety came from and why it impacts you. Most importantly, I want you to understand that the place you started from doesn’t have to be where you are today. We all have choices and it is a beautiful and empowering thing to realize that. Therapy can help you expand your horizons and understand that you are capable of more than you ever imagined.
What To Expect In Anxiety Counseling Sessions
Anxiety can arise for many different reasons. Sometimes it’s the result of past trauma or difficult circumstances. Other times it’s due to genetics or brain chemistry. Therapy is a chance to explore the root causes of anxiety and figure out why it continues to affect you today. Oftentimes, this means looking at unexpressed emotions you’re holding onto and refusing to let go. There may be unresolved fear, anger, or grief that you’ve been keeping bottled up inside.
As your therapist, my role is helping you release these unexpressed emotions. I will give you somatic exercises and calming techniques to help you get in touch with your body and open yourself to whatever emotions you feel. After all, the body is the storehouse of anxiety. There is wisdom in trying to understand what it’s telling you. I’ll help you pay attention to your body’s clues—sweaty palms, shortness of breath, a racing heart, etc.—so that you can recognize the signs of anxiety and release it from your body.
Once you let go of the distressing emotions you’ve been holding inside, you may find it easier to step out of your comfort zone, take advantage of new opportunities, and make new connections. Your relationships may improve and you may feel more present in your day-to-day life. Instead of feeling stressed and overwhelmed, you can feel grounded, serene, and at peace with yourself and those around you. In this way, therapy can benefit every area of your life.
You May Have Some Questions About Anxiety Therapy…
I feel like my problem is more physical than emotional. How can therapy help with that?
Anxiety is very much a physical phenomenon—your body knows before your brain does. What’s more, the brain and body are inherently interconnected. Your emotions are very powerful and can cause many physical symptoms, such as sweaty palms, muscular tension, and lack of sleep or appetite. Anxiety treatment can equip you with grounding skills so that you feel more at home in your body and less prone to panic attacks, aches and pains, and other physical manifestations of stress.
What if I can’t afford anxiety therapy?
Your finances are important and I would never want to stretch your wallet thin. But at the same time, I encourage you to ask yourself: can you afford to not seek help? After all, if you’re reading this page, that means that anxiety is probably negatively impacting your life. Building a relationship with a trained professional is critical to managing anxiety effectively and taking back control of your life.
What if I’m judged for the things I share in sessions?
I am unconditionally accepting in my approach to therapy—you never have to worry about judgment here. This is a safe space where you can share whatever is on your mind without any reservations. And if you don’t want to open up right away, that’s okay. I will go at a pace that’s right for you. With time, I am confident that you will come to feel comfortable sharing things here that you wouldn’t share in the world outside.
